This policy explains what information James Berggren Construction Inc (“we,” “us”) collects through this website, how we use it, who receives it, and how to contact us about it. We are based in San Diego County, California.
What we collect
Information you send us. If you use our project form, we collect your answers about the project (such as the type of work, timing, budget readiness and the property’s ZIP code), any description or photos you add, and your name, email address, phone number (optional) and how you’d like us to reach you. The form also notes how you found our site, such as the referring website or campaign link.
Information collected automatically. When you load a page, our hosting provider receives your IP address and basic browser and device details. If your browser runs JavaScript, our analytics service, PostHog, also receives your IP address and approximate location, browser and device details, the page that referred you, and the pages you view and actions you take on the site, such as starting or sending the form or tapping our phone number. PostHog does not receive what you type into the form.
How we use it
- To review your project and reply to you, including an email confirming we received it.
- To understand how people find and use our site, so we can improve it.
- To run the site, keep it secure and filter out spam.
We do not use your information for targeted advertising, and we do not sell or share it for advertising.
Automated assessment of inquiries
We use an automated system to sort incoming inquiries based on your answers, such as the type of project, timing and location. It helps us decide who follows up first and how. If your ZIP code is outside San Diego County, you’ll get an automated email saying it’s outside the area we serve. Submissions our filter flags as spam aren’t forwarded to our team.
Photos
If you add photos, we remove location data from them before storing them, keep them in private storage, and use them only to understand your project. Photos upload as you add them, so a photo added to a form you don’t send is stored but isn’t connected to you.
Cookies and browser storage
PostHog uses a cookie and your browser’s local storage to recognize repeat visits to this site. The site also uses your browser’s storage for things like keeping your form answers until you send the form or close the tab. You can clear or block cookies and site data in your browser settings, and the site still works without them.
Session recording
We do not record sessions on this site.
Who receives your information
We use service providers to host the site, store and deliver your inquiry, and run analytics:
- Vercel: hosting, spam protection and photo storage
- Neon: our inquiry database
- PostHog: analytics
- Resend: email delivery
- Google Workspace: our company email
- Quo: text alerts to our team, with a project summary but not your contact details
These providers handle information to provide their services to us, under their own terms. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to a successor if the business is transferred. We do not sell or rent personal information.
Tracking by other parties. No third party is permitted to collect personal information about your online activities over time and across different websites through your use of this site.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiries and photos for as long as we need them to respond, follow up and keep business records, and then delete them. Our service providers keep their own records, such as logs, under their own retention policies. Form answers saved in your browser are cleared when you send the form or close the tab.
Do Not Track
This site does not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals. We collect the same information whether or not one is sent.
Reviewing, correcting or deleting your information
To review, correct or delete the project details you sent us, call us at (760) 645-8360 or email info@berggrenconstruction.com. We’ll respond within a reasonable time. We may keep information we need for legal or business records. To reset analytics data, clear this site’s cookies and data in your browser.
California residents
This policy is provided under the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect the information you send us, and we limit access to people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the effective date at the top. For material changes, we’ll also post a notice on this page.
